Kia ora koutou,
Ko Te Ātihaunui-a-pāpārangi tōku iwi.
Nō Whanganui ahau.
I aspire to be a role model for young wāhine; to empower them to live life to the fullest and to take advantage of every opportunity. After completing a Bachelor of Communications majoring in journalism I spent one year studying full-immersion te reo Māori, one of my deepest passions. I’m honoured to be able to speak te reo as it helps me feel connected to my culture. I’m currently developing my career at TVNZ working for ONE News. This job will lead into news reporting.
Helping youth is another passion of mine which has lead me to becoming the lead ambassador for the Key to Life Charitable Trust; a charity focused on preventing mental illness and youth suicide. Many years ago, a major goal of mine was to take part in Miss World New Zealand. While it was only a dream at the time, I am ecstatic because it has already become a reality for me now. I believe I will be an excellent New Zealand representative and am determined to showcase our unique home to the rest of the world.
