I am proud to come from New Zealand; the first country in the world to give women the right to vote. New Zealand has legacy of people who stood up for equal rights and a brighter future. Like those before me, I have always been encouraged to follow my dreams. This led me to pursue my passion for health and education. I have recently completed my honours degree in health ethics, my masters degree in health innovation and I am now in my final year of studying to be a doctor.
Education has been a wonderful part of my life and I believe this is a gift to be shared. This is why, in 2012, I became a founding member of LearnCoach, a not-for-profit organision aimed at reaching struggling high school students in the poorest and most remote areas. Since then, LearnCoach has delivered millions of free online tutorials to thousands of New Zealand students. It works to unleash the full potential of a generation of young people who can, and will, change the world.
I believe we are each given unique talents, gifts and abilities that can create positive change in the world. I am dedicated to using my gifts to empower others. This is exemplified through my involvment in organisations such as the New Zealand Medical Students Assocation, Toastmasters International and the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. I am delighted to be a part of Miss World; a very special organisation committed to empowering people all around the globe.
